Peru: Paracas hotel occupancy rate reaches 100% due to CADE

00:00 | Paracas (Ica region), Nov. 28.

Hotel occupancy rate in Paracas reached 100% a day before the Annual Conference of Executives (CADE-Executives 2018) kicks off in Peru, the city's Tourism and Foreign Trade Chamber (Capatur) Chairman Eduardo Jauregui informed.

"Paracas hotel occupancy has reached full capacity, which is good because it demands larger workforce," he told Andina news agency.

Likewise, Jauregui said the construction of rooms will increase 5% this year, compared to 2017, since the number of tourists choosing this destination grows year after year due to events of this kind and the beauty of the place.

He went on to add the seaside city will see US$4 million in revenue as a result of this business forum.

Hotel investment

Jauregui stressed the importance of hotel investment in Paracas, saying new hotels —two-, three-, four-, and five-star establishments— will be built in 2019, thus bringing an additional 500 rooms to local hospitality facilities.

"The construction of the five-star hotel Radisson Resort, and its 155 rooms, is about to be finished, and the other 345 rooms will be available at two-, three-, and four-star hotels," he stated.

In the same vein —he explained— the above-mentioned business forum increases overnight stays due to the arrival of entrepreneurs, journalists, and security staff, as well as enterprises with different types of services.

Tourism development

As for tourism, the Capatur chief stated CADE favors the development of tourism as many of the visitors attend conferences and cocktail parties at different hotels, while others opt to take the Ballestas Islands tour or get souvenirs.

"Success is guaranteed since 60% of tourism expenditure will go on restaurants," he predicted.
