13:00 | Oxapampa (Pasco region), Jun. 2.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has handed over the Safe Travels Stamp —bestowed by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC)— to the Oxapampa Destination, which includes six tourist circuits and routes, as well as 28 tourist attractions located in said province.

Oxapampa, the Amazon paradise in Pasco, has been classified as a safe destination for tourists at times of COVID-19.

The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday morning in the presence of local authorities and a group of entrepreneurs.

During the event, PromPeru's Tourism Director Maria del Sol Velasquez and Business Investment Promotion Director Daniel Cordova handed over the stamp to Pasco Region Governor Pedro Ubaldo Polinar.

The issuance of this stamp certifies that Oxapampa complies with the biosafety protocols for the reception of visitors in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
