Peru possesses favorable conditions for attracting foreign investment, highlighted Minister of Economy and Finance Elmer Cuba during his participation in the "inPerú" roadshow—held this time in New York City—which aims to secure foreign capital for the country’s development.
The Peruvian government continues to advance initiatives to position Peru as an attractive destination for international investment, strengthen market confidence, and foster conditions conducive to economic growth and job creation.
In this context, Minister of Economy and Finance Elmer Cuba is carrying out a series of engagements in New York, United States, as part of the "inPerú" roadshow.
During the first day of the event, the Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), accompanied by the President of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP), Julio Velarde, participated in a roundtable discussion with representatives from major investment firms and international financial institutions—including American Century, Baron Capital, Buffalo Thorn, First New York, Gemcorp, Itaú Asset Management, Lazard, Morgan Stanley, PGIM, and VanEck Global.
At this meeting, the Peruvian representatives outlined the country’s macroeconomic, financial, and monetary strengths, as well as the fundamentals supporting its stability and the opportunities available to international investors.
"Peru offers favorable conditions for attracting foreign investment, thanks to its solid macroeconomic fundamentals, trade openness, diverse natural resources, and opportunities for developing large-scale infrastructure projects," noted Minister Elmer Cuba.
"Furthermore, there is a legal framework that provides legal certainty, along with a development vision geared toward creating new opportunities for investment, employment, and sustainable growth," he added.
Additionally, the Minister of Economy and Finance delivered a presentation to business leaders and investors—convened by the investment bank J.P. Morgan—as part of efforts to strengthen dialogue with key players in international financial markets.
The agenda also included meetings with representatives from BTG Pactual, BlackRock, and Ninety One, as well as from the Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO), the TCW Group, and EIG Partners—institutions involved in global asset management and investments across various sectors, including energy and infrastructure.
“These meetings help strengthen ties with international investors, present the outlook for the Peruvian economy, and identify opportunities to channel capital into the country—thereby contributing to project development, job creation, and the dynamism of economic activity”, the MEF highlighted.
