Peru: OAS Secretary-General Candidate meets with Argentina President

The Peruvian candidate for Secretary-General of the Organization of American States, Ambassador Hugo de Zela, held a meeting with Argentinean President Alberto Fernandez at Casa Rosada on Monday.

The event also saw the presence of Peru's Ambassador to Argentina, Peter Camino Cannock.

President Fernandez said he listened carefully to the proposal on what should be done at the OAS in order to strengthen ties in the sphere of international organizations.

"We agree that we must promote dialogue and seek consensus to solve regional conflicts and deepen integration," the hosting country's Head of State expressed on the occasion.

Peruvian candidacy


Another objective is to find effective solutions to the principal conflicts in the Western Hemisphere.

The election will be held on March 20.
