During the ceremony, the Cabinet member said he was satisfied with the results obtained and the commitment of all participants gathered at this important meeting.
"With great satisfaction, I allow myself to announce the conclusion of works at the 52nd Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States. During these three days, we had the opportunity to bring forward a frank dialogue,
together for equality and non-discrimination," he indicated.
Minister Landa added that the conclusions at this assembly occur within a regional-global framework marked by crisis and high degrees of uncertainty faced in a shared manner.
"The leadership of your governments and the confluence of all sectors of society are required, as highlighted by
Peruvian President Pedro Castillo. The work and results linked to this General Assembly allow us to be optimistic; the approval of the
Declarations of Lima on these issues constitutes an important step towards (achieving) this goal," he said.
The General Assembly also approved by acclamation the resolution, promoted by Guatemala, which highlights the commitment of the Peruvian Government and the efforts undertaken by
Foreign Affairs Minister Landa in the successful organization of said international event.
Similarly, resolutions were approved to promote the strengthening of democracy, the recovery of health systems and attention to food security, among others, which ratify the key role of the OAS as a space for hemispheric dialogue.
Prior to the closing event, the fourth plenary session took place, where issues related to the Malvinas Islands, the election of authorities of OAS organs, agencies and entities, among others, were addressed.
Besides, the presentation of the report by the General Committee was made, in addition to the approval of draft declarations and resolutions.
