Gaston Cesar Augusto Rodriguez Limo was on Friday evening sworn in by President Martin Vizcarra as new Interior Minister of Peru.
The new cabinet member is a Lieutenant General of the
Peruvian National Police (PNP) and served as National Director of Prevention, Order and Security at the PNP.
In 2017, from June to February, Rodriguez Limo held the position of Head of the Directorate of Special Operations of the National Police of Peru.
He will thus replace Carlos Moran, who served as Minister from October 19, 2018, until today.
The event took place at the Government Palace in Lima.
Friday marks the fortieth day of mandatory social isolation in Peru.
