The Armed Forces have so far transported close to 29,000 people via airlift mechanism implemented in Peru's emergency zones.

As is known, the Andean country is currently at the mercy of heavy rains, landslides and floods that have destroyed infrastructure and crops, as well as left many citizens homeless.

From the total, the Air Force has airlifted 20,276 citizens, followed by the Navy (3,749) and Army (2,474), according to the Defense Ministry.

Likewise, 2,385 people were transported via planes flown by brother countries' Armed Forces, which provided humanitarian aid to the Inca nation.

Airlifts involved the following Peruvian regions: Lima, Ancash, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Piura, Tumbes and Junin.

Air rescue services were implemented to support victims, mainly pregnant women, elderly population, people in urgent need of medical treatment and families with children.
