Peru's National Police State Security Directorate will protect personalities and dignitaries from the 21 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member-states, who will meet in Lima in November.

A total of 10,000 cops will be deployed to guarantee security during the event.

34 agents were trained at the "70th Basic Security and Protection Course," closed by Police General Carlos Tuse at Lima Metropolitan Area’s Rimac-based Revolver International Club facilities on Monday.

Participants gave an impeccable demonstration on what was learned on security, intelligence and counter-intelligence operations to detect, prevent and minimize any violence attempts against dignitaries or personalities.

Participants did a series of exercises: shooting circuit in hostile terrain, shooting inside vehicles and the simulation of an attack against an official delegation in motion.

The initiative aims at displaying the security protocol to be followed on these type of situations.
