Peru: National Institute of Radio and Television names new chairman

Journalist Eduardo Fernando Guzman Iturbe was on Saturday designated as the new chairman of State-run National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru (IRTP), according to a supreme resolution published in El Peruano official gazette on Sunday.

Guzman has an extensive experience in the media industry. He has worked for several TV channels including ATV, Panamericana, and Latina.

In 2017, he was the host of the prime-time news program TV Peru Noticias —broadcast by State-run channel TV Peru.

The National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru (IRTP) is attached to the Ministry of Culture. Its aim is to coordinate actions for spreading educational, informational, cultural, and entertainment content.

The document was signed by President Martin Vizcarra and Culture Minister Francisco Petrozzi.
