Peru names new ambassador to United States

The Executive Branch, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has appointed Oswaldo de Rivero Barreto as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the United States of America.

The appointment was made official by Supreme Resolution No. 135-2021-RE, published on Thursday in the official gazette El Peruano.

The document was signed by the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo and Foreign Affairs Minister Oscar Maurtua de Romaña.

Corresponding credentials and full powers shall be granted to the diplomat as provided by the aforementioned resolution.

A subsequent ministerial resolution will set the date on which De Rivero will take up his duties.

Likewise, by means of Supreme Resolution No. 136-2021-RE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed Carlos Manuel Gil de Montes Molinari as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the Portuguese Republic.

De Montes is an ambassador of the Peruvian Diplomatic Service and will be granted the corresponding credentials and full powers as provided by the abovementioned document.
