The
Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) has announced details about the 22nd edition of the gastronomic fair 'Peru Mucho Gusto,' which will take place from September 15 to 17, 2023, at Parque Peru in Tacna.
PromPeru, the organizer of the event, reported that this new edition will feature the participation of 119 regional exhibitors, including restaurants, producers, artisans, and travel agents.
Said exhibitors will represent the 25 Peruvian regions with the best of their tourism and gastronomy offerings.
"On this occasion, 'Peru Mucho Gusto' returns to Tacna with the purpose of attracting travelers from Arica and Iquique (Chile), as well as from the regions of Arequipa, Moquegua, and Puno. Of course, we hope that the people of Tacna will attend this event massively, which also allows us to enjoy the cuisine from all over Peru," said
Claricia Tirado Diaz, Director of Tourism Promotion at PromPeru.
Expectations and innovations
It is estimated that more than 30,000 people (both national and international visitors) will attend the fair over the course of 3 days, contributing to an economic boost of S/7 million (US$1.89 million) to Tacna region.
Additionally, for the first time, Puno will shine in an exclusive pavilion called "Casa Puno," becoming the first guest region in the history of the 'Peru Mucho Gusto' fairs. Nineteen representatives from Puno will showcase their products, cuisine, and tourism offerings.
It's worth noting that exhibitors from the 25 regions will offer various dishes and products, and will be divided into 11 thematic zones for an organized visit to the fair.
These zones include Restaurants, Smoked Foods, Casa Puno, Bars, Desserts, Beverages, Producers, Food Trucks, Y Tu Que Planes?, and Handicrafts.
Thanks to the initiative of Tacna, the public can also enjoy typical products from this region in the area called Casa Nuestra (Our House).
