The Peru Moda and Peru Gift Show 2015 international fairs were inaugurated on Wednesday, Peru’s Export and Tourism Board (Promperu) confirmed.
Both events aim at implementing a new positioning strategy for the national exportable garment supply.
“The Peru Moda 2015 catwalk will raise the level of the national [garment] supply to the highest, once the most important brands and recognized designers join efforts to create an amazing exportable collection,” Promperu stated.
This year, organizers seek to boost the “Alpaca Peru” brand, it added.
It must be noted the event features the 11th edition of the “Creative Youngsters to the World” contest, which gathers fashion design students from all over the country. It aims at boosting new designers' creativity and developing “added-valued” garment products.
The activities take place at the Peruvian Army’s General Headquarters in Lima Metropolitan Area’s San Borja district.
At the site products from 350 exporters are displaying their manufactured products. 2,000 visitors are expected to attend.
The international fairs conclude on May 29.
