Between July 17 and 20, the
Ministry of Health (Minsa) distributed 45 tons of medical supplies in Lima Metropolitan Area and 15 regions, as part of the actions to counter the pandemic throughout the country, the
National Center for Supply of Strategic Health Resources (Cenares) reported.
In total, 1,105,956 personal protective equipment (PPE) units, medicines, and rapid tests were delivered to integrated health directorates, hospitals, and institutes across the Lima Metropolitan Area.
The supplies were also distributed in Amazonas, Ancash, Arequipa, Cajamarca, Callao, Cusco, Huanuco, Ica, Junin, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Moquegua, Piura, Tumbes, and Lima regions.
The main products include PPE (face masks, overalls, pants, etc.), rapid tests, and medications such as ivermectin and dexamethasone, among others.
Cenares is the logistics entity of
Minsa and —since the beginning of the pandemic in March— has distributed over 100 million units of products to combat COVID-19 all over country.
