Peru seeks to showcase its diverse landscapes, cultural heritage, and tourist destinations to the world through cinema and audiovisual productions.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has published a draft regulation aimed at facilitating the use of Peruvian locations for domestic and international filming and strengthening the South American country's position as a cinematic destination.
The initiative was formalized through Ministerial Resolution No. 369-2026-Mincetur.
In this regard, the draft regulation includes tools to identify and promote filming locations, generate specialized information, provide technical assistance, as well as strengthen coordination among public and private entities involved in this activity.
In addition to showcasing Peru to international audiences, the initiative creates opportunities to boost film tourism, diversify the country's tourism offerings, and increase the visibility of its destinations through audiovisual productions.
Mincetur invites public and private entities, civil society organizations, and interested individuals to review the draft supreme decree and its explanatory statement.
They may submit their comments, contributions, or opinions within 20 calendar days, starting the day after the resolution is published in the Official Gazette El Peruano.
The documents are available on Mincetur's website.
Comments and suggestions may also be sent by email to facilitacion.turistica@mincetur.gob.pe or submitted to Mincetur's Document Reception Office, located at Calle Uno Oeste No. 050, Corpac, San Isidro, Lima.
