The Peruvian
Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) on Sunday launched an aggressive communication campaign called "COVID-19 does not kill by itself. Let us not be accomplices."
The aim of this initiative is to generate an impact on citizens through frontal and direct messages, so as to encourage a change in people's behavior and prevent them from becoming the vehicle for transmitting the novel coronavirus.
In a context in which the fight against the pandemic requires the population to reinforce self-protective behaviors against the virus, the campaign appeals to social pressure from family, friends and the general public to raise awareness in citizens who engage in irresponsible behavior and can become accomplices in the spread of COVID-19.
Likewise, it recognizes the discipline of those who, having the need to go out to work, do so by complying with distancing and cleaning measures to return home healthy, but are exposed to those who disobey the recommendations made by authorities.
"COVID-19 does not kill by itself. Let us not be accomplices" is a 360-degree campaign that includes advertising through television, radio, outdoor media, social networks, BTL activities, urban interventions, among other forms of communication, thus becoming the most aggressive campaign that the Government has launched at this juncture.
This campaign represents the first of three stages planned by the PCM's Secretariat of Social Communication as a broad medium and long-term communication strategy at this juncture.
"COVID-19 does not kill by itself. Let us not be accomplices" is the third campaign promoted by the PCM
since the pandemic began and seeks to engage the State, institutions, the media and citizens in the dissemination of its messages concerning the health of Peruvians.
