Peru: JNE confirms 38 political organizations eligible for April elections

The National Elections Board's (JNE) plenary clarified that 38 political organizations surpassed the electoral threshold in the primary elections. Therefore, they are cleared to submit candidates to the Special Electoral Boards (JEEs), within the framework of the 2026 General Elections.

This was established by Resolution No. 0801-2025-JNE, published in the Legal Regulations Bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano. 

Below are the political organizations eligible to submit candidates for the election of the President of the Republic, Vice Presidents, Senators, Deputies, and Representatives to the Andean Parliament for the 2026–2031 term:

1. Ahora Nación – AN (Now Nation – AN)

2. Alianza para el Progreso (Alliance for Progress)

3. Avanza País – Partido de Integración Social (Go On Country – Social Integration Party)

4. Fe en el Perú (Faith in Peru)

5. Frente Popular Agrícola del Perú (Agricultural People's Front of Peru)

6. Fuerza Popular (Popular Force)

7. Juntos por el Perú (Together for Peru)

8. Partido Político Libertad Popular (Popular Freedom Political Party)

9. Partido Ciudadanos por el Perú (Citizens for Peru Party)

10. Partido Cívico Obras (Civic Works Party)

11. Partido del Buen Gobierno (Good Governance Party)

12. Partido Demócrata Unido Perú (United Peru Democratic Party)

13. Partido Demócrata Verde (Green Democratic Party)

14. Partido Democrático Federal (Federal Democratic Party)

15. Partido Democrático Somos Perú (We Are Peru Democratic Party)

16. Partido Frente de la Esperanza 2021 (2021 Hope Front Party)

17. Partido País para Todos (Country for All Party)

18. Partido Patriótico del Perú (Patriotic Party of Peru)

19. Partido Político Integridad Democrática (Democratic Integrity Political Party)

20. Partido Político Nacional Perú Libre (Free Peru Political Party)

21. Partido Político Perú Acción (Peru Action Political Party)

22. Partido Político Perú Primero (Peru First Political Party)

23. Partido Político PRIN (PRIN Political Party)

24. Partido SÍCREO (I Believe Party)

31. Primero La Gente – Comunidad, Ecología, Libertad y Progreso (People First – Community, Ecology, Freedom, and Progress)

32. Partido Morado (Purple Party)

33. Renovación Popular (Popular Renewal)

34. Partido Aprista Peruano (Peruvian Aprista Party)

35. Partido de los Trabajadores y Emprendedores PTE–Perú (Workers and Entrepreneurs Party PTE–Peru)

36. Fuerza y Libertad (Strength and Liberty)

37. Alianza Electoral Venceremos (We Will Overcome Electoral Alliance)

38. Unidad Nacional (National Unity)

The regulation states that, in compliance with the electoral timetable, primary elections were held on November 30, 2025. During that time political organizations selected their candidates through a vote of their registered members.

On that date, political organizations elected their delegates, who went on to select the candidates on December 7, 2025.

It also specifies that, through Resolution No. 0745-2025-JNE, dated December 11, 2025, the primary elections by the political organization Acción Popular (Popular Action) were declared null and void within the framework of the 2026 General Elections.

The General Elections will be held on April 12, 2026, with a potential runoff for the presidential race scheduled for June 7.
