The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo leads the Civic-Military Parade within the framework of the 201st Anniversary of Peru's Independence.

The event is held at the Army General Headquarters in Lima's San Borja district.

Given the restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony takes place behind closed doors —without the presence of large crowds.

Held every July 29, the traditional event gathers detachments representing the country's military institutions and National Police.

The ceremony is attended by State ministers, Congress members, high-ranking military officers, diplomats, and First Lady of the Nation Lilia Paredes.

Members of the Army, Air Force, Navy, and National Police delight spectators with their stiff march, gala uniforms, and varied equipment.

Held as part of Independence Day festivities, the parade pays tribute to Peruvian Armed Forces for their contribution to the country. It is also an opportunity to inspire patriotism and love for the country.
