Peru is key and, apparently, has made a deep impression.
Jungkook—a member of South Korean band BTS—shared his photographic perspective on Huaca Pucllana, one of Lima's most visited tourist attractions, located in Miraflores district, through a series of photos posted on his Instagram account on Tuesday.
"When contemporary art meets more than 1,500 years of history. Jungkook from BTS shared his photographic vision of Huaca Pucllana in Lima, and the result is simply spectacular," Marca Peru (Peru Brand) highlighted on its social media accounts.
During his stay in Peru, Jeon Jung-kook—the singer's real name—posted photographs of Lima.
Now it was the turn of this "Peruvian heritage immortalized"—as Marca Peru highlighted—which is under the care of the Ministry of Culture and the Miraflores District Municipality.
The Instagram account of the singer, who is also a dancer, composer, and model, has 26 million followers, meaning Huaca Pucllana will be in the world's eyes.
In his Instagram Stories, Kim Nam-joon—the artist's real name—posted a photo showing him wearing a colorful chullo, a traditional Peruvian woolen hat.
As is well known, BTS held three concerts in the Peruvian capital on October 7, 9, and 10.
About Pucllana
The archaeological site, which covers approximately five hectares, was an urban center belonging to the Lima culture, which occupied the area between 200 and 700 AD.
It was also used as a village by contemporary cultures, such as the Ychma.
Its prominent feature is its tall, well-preserved main pyramid, where religious ceremonies were held in the past.
The pyramid dates back to the height of the Lima culture.
Centuries later, the site was used as a cemetery by the Wari culture.
The last occupants were members of the Ychma culture.
