Peru: Hydrocarbon companies paid US$473.7 million in royalties to State

A total of US$473.7 million was paid to the Peruvian State by companies operating in the hydrocarbon sector as royalties from January to May 2025, the National Society of Mining, Oil, and Energy (SNMPE) reported.

The mining-energy association stated that this figure (US$473.7 million) represented a 1.1% decrease compared to the US$479.2 million paid by oil and gas companies as royalties between January and May 2024.

Likewise, the SNMPE specified that companies operating in the national hydrocarbon industry paid US$86.1 million as royalties last May, an amount 14.1% less than the US$100.3 million recorded in the same month of 2024.

The institution explained that, last May, hydrocarbon sector companies paid the following amounts in royalties:

US$47.3 million for natural gas exploitation.
US$15.2 million for oil.
US$23.6 million for the production of natural gas liquids.
