A total of US$1.092 billion was paid to the Peruvian State by hydrocarbon sector companies for royalties from January to November 2024, the National Society of Mining, Oil, and Energy (SNMPE) reported.
The mining and energy guild indicated that this figure ($1.092 billion) represented a 3.6% reduction compared to the $1.133 billion paid by oil and gas companies in royalties in the same period of 2023.
Companies operating in Peru's hydrocarbon industry paid US$100 million in royalties last November alone, an amount that was higher than the US$94.05 million registered in the same month in 2023, the organization reported.
However, royalties for November 2024 (US$100.30 million) were 2.4% lower than those reported last October (US$102.80 million).
The SNMPE explained that hydrocarbon companies paid royalties for natural gas exploitation (US$51.17 million) and for oil (US$18.22 million), as well as for liquid natural gas production (US$30.91 million) last November.
