Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to introduce the Hyatt Centric brand in the Peruvian capital with a hotel expected to open in early 2018.

In a release, the U.S. multinational announced a franchise agreement with Talbot Hotels S.A. for two Hyatt Centric hotels in South America: one in Lima (Peru) and the other one in Santiago (Chile).

"Santiago and Lima are two of the main gateway cities in Latin America, and we are confident Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima and Hyatt Centric Las Condes Santiago will deliver on the brand's commitment to put guests in the middle of the action and inspire them to explore these dynamic capital cities," says Hyatt Franchise Operations Vice President George Vizer.

The 254-room Lima hotel will be located in the heart of upper-class San Isidro district, one of the city's most exclusive areas, surrounded by art galleries, high-end retail boutiques and some of Lima's top-rated restaurants.

"Lush landscaping and wide-open plazas are also prominent in this area adding to the charm of this vibrant neighborhood," the news release continues.

On the other hand, Talbot Hotels CEO Eduardo Aristia affirms the firm is "especially excited to be part of the introduction of the Hyatt Centric brand in Peru and Chile."

The hotel giant thus seeks to further expand its Hyatt Centric brand, following the recent openings of Hyatt Centric Guatemala City (Guatemala) and Hyatt Centric Montevideo (Uruguay).

Launched in 2015, the Hyatt Centric brand includes hotels in Chicago, Houston, New York City, New Orleans, Waikiki, Hawaii, Arlington, Virginia, Park City, Utah, Miami, Key West, Long Beach, Santa Barbara and San Francisco, and even more in the pipeline with previously announced hotels planned for Barbados, Doha, Dubai, Madrid, French Alps and Ginza Tokyo.
