14:23 | Piura (Piura region), Jun. 19.
Housing, Construction and Sanitation Minister Rodolfo Yañez on Friday arrived in Piura with 5 mechanical ventilators and a new batch of personal protective equipment (PPE) to support the care of COVID-19 patients at different hospitals in this northern region.
In his capacity as representative of the Executive Branch in Piura, Yañez emphasized that —week after week— a MVCS delegation heads to said region to deliver gloves, face masks, protective plants, glasses, and jackets so as to provide health workers —on the front line of care— with adequate clothing, which allows them to deliver better patient care and, at the same time, avoid getting infected with COVID-19.
In addition to the PPE, the supplies included 18,000 250 mg azithromycin tablets.
As usual, in coordination with the Armed Forces and the National Police, the government official will participate in the application of COVID-19 tests on vendors and customers in Castilla Market, within the framework of "Te Cuido Peru" (I take care of you, Peru) Program.
