It is no secret Peru's otherworldly landscapes and mouth–watering cuisine lure millions of visitors every year, yet the Inca country has managed to keep some of its wonders hidden away.
These —and more— are hitting the big screen in November 2017 in "
Peru: Hidden Treasure," a documentary-genre film that traces the secrets of one of the most incredible places on Earth, Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) informed Monday.
Beautifully-crafted under the keen eye of Uruguayan film-maker Luis Ara Hermida, the 80-minute motion picture will take viewers from Peru’s most recognizable landmarks to its under-the-radar gems.
Recorded during 2016 and early 2017, the feature took the production team across the Andean nation's multifaceted lands: coastline, highlands and rainforest.
"Possessing a
millenary culture that currently captivates people of any origin, Peru gives us some of the most beautiful landscapes that a human being can get to know," reads the film synopsis.
Nature, landscapes and geography share leading roles with the legacy and cultural heritage of centuries-old civilizations in a picture that successfully captures the essence of Peru.
Ica desert sunsets, vertigo-inducing shots of green ravines and moving portraits of Andean peoples are some of the
sneak peeks revealed in the documentary's trailer.
The movie is to premiere on theaters in Peru and to screen internationally on cable TV and video on demand (VOD) platforms.
PromPeru Country Image Director Isabella Falco praised Ara, the 37-year-old mastermind behind the film.
"A film director enamored with Peru, who wants the world to learn about our country’s hidden treasures."
"A nature and adventure lover who is not afraid to venture into rainforests and ravines, to showcase —artfully and passionately— the living cultures that make Peru a country like no other," she added.
Luis Ara is the director of TRAILER MEDIA multimedia production company. He is a representative of American companies and editor of six Latin American magazines, as well an executive producer of advertising and cinema.
