Peru: Head of State attends Congress to deliver address

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Tuesday afternoon arrived at Congress to deliver an address to the nation.

Upon arrival, he was accompanied by members of the Ministerial Cabinet and was received with the honors befitting his high rank.

Earlier, the Head of State chaired an extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers at the Government Palace in Lima.

The Board of Spokespersons of the Peruvian Congress on Monday agreed to approve President Castillo's request to attend the Parliament's plenary session today at 5 p.m.

On March 11, Prime Minister Anibal Torres asked Congress to receive the President of the Republic during a plenary session on March 15.
