The multisectoral working group that seeks to gain access to the forthcoming COVID-19 vaccine as fast as possible held its first meeting.

The gathering took place in Lima on Thursday after Health Minister Victor Zamora presided over the establishment of the group.

"This group joins the major national effort to fight the epidemic and sides with the different segments of the health sector in the search for the latest medical solution to the virus: the vaccine," he stated.

According to the high-ranking official, this search implies bringing intelligence, capacities, knowledge and experiences together in order to diversify the way in which Peruvians can access products, supplies and technologies needed to stop the coronavirus.
