Peru: Gov't authorizes FA Minister's trip to U.S. to strengthen bilateral ties

The Executive Branch has authorized the trip, on commission of services, of Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi to the United States to hold meetings with government officials of that country.

According to Supreme Resolution No. 025-2023-PCM, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano, Gervasi's trip to the United States is authorized from January 30 to February 2.

The Peruvian official's visit will help develop and strengthen the bilateral ties with said country in various areas of the extensive relationship, as well as the development of the High-Level Bilateral Dialogue between Peru and the United States.

Gervasi will hold working meetings that will help to strengthen ties and establish greater contact with U.S. authorities and representatives of the private sector in that country.

In this sense, the Foreign Affairs office will be entrusted to Justice-Human Rights Minister Jose Tello as long as the sector head's absence lasts.

The expenses related to the fulfillment of the commission of services will be covered by the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Thus, a documented report on the expenses shall be presented no later than fifteen (15) calendar days after at the end of the aforementioned trip.
