The Executive Branch has authorized the trip, on commission of services, of Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi to Argentina to participate in the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

According to Supreme Resolution No. 022-2023-PCM, Gervasi's trip to Argentina is authorized from January 23 to 25.

It should be noted that the 7th CELAC Summit will be held on January 24 in the city of Buenos Aires.

The goal of the CELAC Summit is to recognize the achievements made in 2022 and discuss the challenges that the future of this regional bloc faces.

The expenses related to the fulfillment of the commission of services are covered by the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Moreover, a documented report on the expenses shall be presented no later than fifteen (15) calendar days after at the end of the aforementioned trip.

The supreme resolution does not excuse or waive the payment of taxes or customs duties, whatever their type or name.

In this sense, the Foreign Affairs office will be entrusted to Labor-Employment Promotion Minister Luis Alfonso Adrianzen as long as the sector head's absence lasts.

The resolution was countersigned by the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte, Prime Minister Alberto Otarola, and Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi.
