The Executive Branch on Monday approved a licensing agreement for the exploitation of hydrocarbons in Block 192 —located between the provinces of Datem del Marañon and Loreto in Loreto region— to be awarded to Perupetro.

The decree states that the purpose of this contract is to approve the creation, extension, delimitation, and nomenclature of the initial area of Block 192.

Moreover, it provides that the map and description of said block are included in the document.

The licensing agreement for the exploitation of hydrocarbons in Block 192 —which consists of a Preliminary Clause, 24 clauses and nine Annexes— will be entered into between Perupetro and Petroleos del Peru (Petroperu), with the intervention of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR).

The aim is to ensure compliance with the provisions of Articles 63 and 66 of the Single Revised Text of Law Nº 26221, Organic Hydrocarbon Law, approved by Supreme Decree Nº 042-2005-EM.

It also states that, in accordance with Law No. 30357 —a Law that incorporated a Fourth Final Complementary Provision to Law No. 30130— Perupetro is authorized to sign the licensing agreement for the exploitation of hydrocarbons in Block 192 and will not require additional resources from the Public Treasury under any circumstances.
