S/.112,604,000 million (about US$35,188,750) has been allocated to carry out infrastructure and furniture maintenance on 16,164 State-owned schools, Peru's Ministry of Education-attached National School Infrastructure Program (Pronied) announced.
The said educational centers are located in Northern regions: Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Cajamarca, Amazonas and San Martin.
Since the beginning of the year, the amount has been handed over to school principals.
The fund has led to improving school infrastructure, aimed at ensuring the conditions required for students to carry out academic activities within the proper environment.
Parents and the educational community actively participate in these maintenance works by organizing committees to oversee the proper use of funds.
