Peru Gov't adds new members to COVID-19 Operations Command

The Government of Peru has added new members to the COVID-19 Operations Command, which aims to lead the organization of all available resources required to combat the coronavirus pandemic in Peru, according to a rule published Thursday in El Peruano official gazette.

As stated in Ministerial Resolution No. 196-2020/MINSA, endorsed by Health Minister Victor Zamora, the command is made up of experts with acknowledged ability and expertise. The members include:

- A representative designated by the Ministry of Health, who chairs it.

- A representative of the General Directorate for Health Operations of the Ministry of Health.

- A representative of the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud).

- A representative of the Health Department of the Peruvian Navy.

- A representative of the Health Department of the Peruvian Army.

- A representative of the Health Department of the Peruvian Air Force.

- A representative of the Health Department of the National Police.

- A representative of the Association of Private Clinics of Peru.

The Operations Command members will be accredited to the Ministry of Health by EsSalud, the Health Department of the Peruvian Navy, the Health Department of the Peruvian Army, the Health Department of the Peruvian Air Force, the Health Department of the National Police, and the Association of Private Clinics of Peru.
