Peru: Government designates new Police General Commander

The Interior Ministry has appointed General Vicente Tiburcio Orbezo to the post of General Commander of the National Police of Peru, according to a Supreme Resolution published in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

Supreme Resolution No. 019-2022-IN, endorsed by the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo and Interior Minister Alfonso Chavarry, also provides for his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Likewise, the Interior Ministry (Mininter) has named General Miguel Fernando Lostaunau Fuentes to the post of Chief of the National Police General Staff, who is promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General of said institution.

Moreover, the Government has appointed General Luis Alberto Vera Llerena to the post of Inspector General of the National Police of Peru. In addition, he is promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General of the police institution.
