New messages from opposition party Fuerza Popular's chat group —"La Botica" (The Pharmacy)— show the beginning of an attack against President Martin Vizcarra, as well as the political use of Congress' Ethics Commission against lawmakers from other political groups, La Republica newspaper informed Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, the chats belong to a Whatsapp conversation.

"Now is the moment to attack (Martin) Vizcarra (...)," the message reads.

Previous messages also showed attacks against the Head of State by Congress members Hector Becerril and Milagros Salazar, both belonging to Fuerza Popular.

Ethics commission

Likewise, there are messages concerning the use of the Ethics Commission against their opponents at Parliament.

In one of them, lawmaker Marco Miyashiro mentioned that Ethics Commission Chairwoman Janet Sanchez has a brother, who was "sentenced for treason against the homeland (in 2012)."

Furthermore, Fuerza Popular Congressman Mario Mantilla pointed out that legislator Tania Pariona (Nuevo Peru party) called them an "organized mafia."

Thus, Karina Beteta replied it was necessary to report her to the Ethics Commission and punish her. "That's the only way they will respect us."

On the other hand, Ursula Letona said it was necessary to send Fuerza Popular political group the list of cases linked to them, which were submitted to the Ethics Commission.

"And the scandals of other parties," she added.

Keiko Fujimori

As is known, Fuerza Popular is the party led by former presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori, who currently serves a 36-month preventive detention in Lima over alleged money laundering charges linked to the Odebrecht company.

The Judicial Branch declared well-founded the request made by the Prosecutor's Office to imprison Fujimori because of the danger of obstruction of justice that implied keeping her free.

After having fled to Japan and traveled to Chile —from where he was extradited to Peru— the Fujimori patriarch was sentenced for crimes against human rights and corruption committed during his term in office.
