The Peruvian Government on Friday authorized Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio's trip to Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea), where he will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders Week (AELW).
The
event will take place on November 12-20.
According to a Supreme Resolution —published in El Peruano official gazette— the minister will participate in the 30th APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM), 4th APEC Business Advisory Council Meeting, and 26th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM).
It should be noted these audiences are aimed at materializing progress and the adopted decisions —within the framework of APEC— in favor of economic development and market opening.
Furthermore, they are intended to boost investment growth, as well as strengthen the Asia-Pacific region's economic integration in order to enhance its well-being.
During Minister Popolizio's absence, Defense Minister Jose Huerta will take over the Foreign Affairs portfolio.
The trip was authorized by Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra and Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva.
