Peru: FA Min reports on OECD accession process

Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa held a meeting with leaders of various organizations, linked to financial and entrepreneurial matters, to report on the process of accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

On this occasion, the portfolio's head was joined by the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Trade.

Among the representatives who participated in the meeting —held last Monday— were those of the Private Competitiveness Council, the Lima Stock Exchange, the Peruvian Federation of Municipal Banks, the Peruvian SME Association, and the Association of Microfinance Institutions of Peru.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the leaders of these organizations agreed to support in this effort of national interest.

During the meeting, it was stressed that the process of accession to the OECD as a State policy means an opportunity to strengthen the institutional framework; provide more sound legal frameworks aimed at promoting investments; boost formality; as well as to create more and better job sources.
