The Peruvian Government on Wednesday expressed its solidarity with the Greek people and Government over the forest fires that have occurred in their territory.

In a message posted on Twitter, the Foreign Affairs Ministry conveyed condolences to the families of the victims affected by those natural disasters.

"Peru expresses its solidarity with the Government and People of the Hellenic Republic over the serious forest fires that have been causing human and material losses in its territory," the message read.

These disasters occurred with greater emphasis on the Greek island of Euboea and the Peloponnese peninsula.

The phenomenon was also registered in Italian, Algerian, and Turkish regions. However, it is in Greek territory where the incidence is higher.

Said forest fires have been attributed to the high temperature of the European summer, which reaches 45 Celsius degrees.
