The Peruvian Government on Thursday expressed its deepest condolences and solidarity with the Indian Government and people, as well as with the families of the victims of the tragic Air India plane crash, which was carrying 242 passengers and crew members.
The accident, which occurred Thursday in the city of Ahmedabad, also caused serious injuries at BJ Medical College.
A Boeing 787 aircraft operated by Air India crashed within the airport's perimeter in Ahmedabad, in western India.
Flight AI-171 was en route from Ahmedabad to Gatwick Airport in London.
It took off from the runway at 1:39 p.m. (local time). Immediately afterward, the crew issued a Mayday call but did not respond to further communications before crashing into the medical college area.
