Peruvian exports to the
Czech Republic totaled US$6.6 million in 2018, posting a growth of more than 400% compared to 2017, Lima Chamber of Commerce's (CCL) Foreign Trade Center (CCEX) reported Wednesday.
This result was underpinned by higher shipments of
non-traditional products.
Peru's non-traditional products accounted for 89% of total exports and amounted to US$5.9 million in 2018, being textile and garments —with 74% of participation— the most important sub-sector with US$4.3 million worth of exports, 100% more than in 2017.
Among the most exported non-traditional products are nonwoven fabrics (US$54.3 million), zinc oxide (US$354,000), games of chance (US$262,000), zipper parts (US$128,000), and cochineal carmine (US$126,000).
Imports
As for imports from the Czech Republic, the CCEX's business intelligence department informed that purchases totaled US$56 million, up 11% over
2017 (US$51 million).
The most demanded were imports of capital goods. Of particular note are scaffolding materials, microscopes, tires, among others.
Sodium cyanide and wire manufacture stood out among intermediate goods.
