Peru's Labor and Job Promotion Ministry (MTPE) on Tuesday reported that
in urban areas rose 0.6% last November.
This progress was registered in the group of formal private companies with 10 or more workers.
"This result was due to the favorable behavior of the four branches of activity," the Ministry detailed in its national
employment variation survey.
In this case, the performance of the sectors —such as services (0.6%), commerce (0.6%), and manufacturing industry (0.5%)— stood out.
However, in the branch of transport, storage and communications a decrease of 0.6% was recorded.
Business
By company size, those with 10 to 49 workers contributed —to a greater extent— to the progress reported thru November.
In this group of companies,
employment increased 0.7% in the analyzed period.
In the case of companies with 50 or more workers, a growth of 0.5% was reported.
Cities
The MTPE stressed that the northern cities of Sullana and Piura led employment growth in the referred period with expansions of 14.1% and 10.5%, respectively.
