Peru: Elmer Schialer is reaffirmed, sworn in as Foreign Affairs Minister

Diplomat Elmer Schialer was sworn in as Minister of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday evening, after being reaffirmed in the post by President Dina Boluarte.

The ambassador has a solid track record of nearly 40 years in the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Peru.

The diplomat has held various high-level positions, including Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of Peru to Germany, and Director General for the Andean Community, among other important posts.

Schialer holds a Bachelor's degree and a Licenciatura in International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy of Peru, and completed the Master's program in Economics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).

He has also pursued postgraduate studies in Systems Engineering at the National University of Engineering and holds specializations in International Economic Law and the History of Economic Thought, among others.


Today's event took place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
