Peru: Defense Minister and U.S. Ambassador address defense cooperation

Peruvian Defense Minister Rafael Belaunde met with U.S. Ambassador to Peru Bernie Navarro on Wednesday to address various issues related to defense cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Ministry of Defense, key topics addressed during the meeting included the arrival of F-16 Block 70 fighter jets, preparedness for El Niño phenomenon, the Callao Naval Base modernization, and space cooperation.


In turn, the U.S. ambassador expressed satisfaction with the meeting.

Navarro said that through cooperation, "we achieve a safer region."

"Together, we will take great strides," he added.
