Teniente Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport —located in the Andean city of Cusco— complies with
health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Besides, it is ready to resume operations and receive passengers in the coming days.
"So far, the protocol we have been implementing is guaranteed. All that is left to do is review its compliance, and Diresa-Cusco will take care of that part," Regional Health Director Dario Navarro confirmed.
"We are going to continue to maintain control as always, but it will be stricter than before because we have to supervise the differentiated triage and if a situation arises, we will have to conduct rapid tests as part of this control," he added.
Observing the guidelines to combat the coronavirus is essential, given that flight operations will resume in the course of the next few days —following authorization of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), regarding capacity and infrastructure.
Cusco Region Governor Jean Paul Benavente noted that the population must understand that —with the resumption of operations— health control must be given priority over the reopening of transport services or the regional and national economy.
