Credit to the private sector —which includes loans granted by banks, financial, municipal and rural savings banks, as well as cooperatives— grew 8% in November 2019 compared to the same month last year, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) has reported.
By segments,
credit to natural persons maintained its annual growth rate and expanded 11.4%, while that aimed at companies rose 5.9%.
Regarding
credit to natural persons, BCR said the most dynamic segment was the consumer-oriented one.
In this sphere, an annual expansion of 13% was registered last November, while mortgage
credit increased 9%.
By currencies, credit in Peruvian Soles continues growing at annual double-digit rates, with an expansion of 10.5% in November. For its part, credit in U.S. Dollars rose 1.6%.
