During an extraordinary session held on Monday, the
Council of Ministers continued to work in coordination with regional and local governments in order to implement measures that aim to protect the health and economy of the population in the context of a surge in new COVID-19 cases.
As reported after the meeting, the specific needs of each jurisdiction are being addressed.
Once the measures have been identified, the population will be informed through the official communication channels.
Additionally, the Council of Ministers called on Peruvians to continue to abide by preventive measures, which are key to avoid
the spread of COVID-19.
These measures include practicing physical distancing of at least one meter and a half, avoiding crowds and enclosed spaces, as well as washing hands constantly.
The session also addressed ways to improve the capacity to enforce the measures to be adopted in this context.
