The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Tuesday affirmed that the Constitutional Court (TC) has all the support to continue performing its duty of protecting the rights and liberties that make up the Political Constitution of Peru.

"The Constitutional Court has our full support to continue performing its fundamental role in protecting the rights and liberties of our Constitution," she expressed.

The Head of State pledged that this year she will work for a country in order and peace so as to achieve a more just, inclusive, and equitable society.

"Together we can achieve it, with faith and renewed conviction about the destiny of the country, we will move forward for the benefit of the more than 33 million Peruvians," she said.

Similarly, the Head of State thanked TC Chairman Francisco Morales for having adopted the agreement to rejoin the Council for Justice System Reform, since he also shares the idea of achieving "more efficient, modern, and inclusive" justice.

"In my capacity as constitutional President of the Republic and a lawyer, I express my full support for the independence of the country's constitutionally-autonomous bodies; Peru needs the joint work of its institutions, respecting the autonomies and powers established by the Constitution," she stated.

Moreover, the top official indicated that Peru is facing the problem of crime and citizen insecurity, saying that her Government "will not allow criminal organizations to continue frightening our brothers who strive every day."

"My Government issued more than 30 legislative decrees that were incorporated into the national legal system in order to strengthen the actions of our (Peruvian) National Police, Public Ministry, and Judiciary, among others, for joint work in defense of the lives and integrity of all Peruvians," she pointed out.
