For a list to be considered a winner, it must reach 66 votes. Otherwise, a second round will be held between the two most voted groups.
If a runoff ends in a tie, Congress' Regulations state that the Chair of Parliament has the casting vote.
The session for the election of the Board of Chairpersons took place at Parliament headquarters in Lima.
Update at 1:30 p.m. (local time): The final race for the Presidency of Congress will be disputed between legislator Lady Camones (List 1) and Esdras Medina (List 3), as their lists obtained the highest number of votes, according to the counting process.
Therefore, both lists will go to a runoff so as to define who will lead the Board for the 2022-2023 period.
