During a plenary session on Monday, Congress approved the drat that authorizes the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte to leave the national territory from November 1 to 4, 2023, to travel to the city of Washington, D.C., and the State of Maryland in the United States.

The initiative received 65 votes in favor, 42 against, and five (5) abstentions.

The request was made so that the Head of State can participate at the inaugural Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) Leaders' Summit organized by the Government of the United States, as well as at the APEP-IDB Responsible Investment Forum organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

According to the bill, the dignitary is also expected to participate in side events with representatives of the U.S. Congress, Department of the Treasury, and Chamber of Commerce, which are set to take place on November 2 and 3.

Likewise, it highlights the holding of a bilateral meeting between President Boluarte and the U.S. President Joseph R. Biden, which was confirmed by the Peruvian Embassy in the United States.
