Congress' plenary session has approved the letter of resignation of Pedro Pablo Kuczynski to the Presidency of the Republic of Peru.

The resignation was approved with 105 votes in favor, 12 against, and four (04) abstentions.

As is known, Kuczynski announced his resignation in a televised address to the nation on Wednesday afternoon.

The announcement came after the opposition alleged that the embattled President's allies were trying to buy votes ahead of a second impeachment motion against him.

The legislative resolution will be published in El Peruano official gazette.
