The three reporters —two Colombians and one Spaniard— from Spanish international news agency EFE, who were detained this week by Venezuela's national intelligence service, were released on Thursday.

The correspondents met with Spanish Consul in Caracas Julio Navas, who confirmed they are in good condition.

Earlier, Peru's Government condemned the arbitrary arrests of journalists by the repressive institutions linked to Nicolas Maduro's dictatorial regime in Venezuela and demanded their immediate release.

Likewise, the Inca country's Foreign Affairs Ministry lamented the sharp deterioration of fundamental freedoms in the Bolivarian nation.

On Tuesday, two Chilean journalists were arrested and later expelled from the country.
