The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday reported that Peru permanently follows up on the evolution of the situation in Ukraine and laments the massive military offensive conducted by the Russian Federation.

The government agency pointed out that this constitutes an act of aggression, according to the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3314, by violating Ukraine's territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

At the same time, Peru reiterates its call for an immediate resumption of consultations and negotiations for a diplomatic, peaceful, and negotiated solution, in accordance with the principles and obligations of the UN Charter, which are binding for all countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also established an emergency consular unit to protect and tend to Peruvian citizens in Ukraine, including their relocation to third countries or their repatriation.
