Prime Minister Guido Bellido will appear at a Congress plenary session on August 26 to support the Government's general policy and request a vote of confidence from legislators.

The Prime Minister arrived at Congress headquarters minutes before 1:30 p.m. (local time) and met with its Chairwoman Maria del Carmen Alva for nearly 45 minutes.

After leaving Parliament headquarters, the Cabinet chief stated that dialogue was held with respect, as it should exist between both powers.

"We have also agreed that I will be present at the Congress of the Republic on Thursday, August 26. There, we will be supporting the works, (that means) all initiatives that we plan to launch so that the country is in better economic, political, and social conditions," he pointed out.

Likewise, the government's spokesman specified that the initiatives to be presented before lawmakers are intended to improve conditions and opportunities "for each of our brothers and sisters."
